UCCX Upgrade 9-10.6 Before CUCM Switch Version

I am planning an upgrade of CUCM and UCCX and looking to both save time, and maintain operability during the process.  In short, can UCCX be upgraded to 10.6 inactive partition before CUCM is switched from 9?

Process looks like this:

1. Upgrade CUCM Publisher to inactive partitions (9.1.2.11900-12 to current 11.5 release)
2. Upgrade UCCX primary to inactive partition (9.0.2.11002-27 to 10.6 with latest SU)
3. Upgrade CUCM Subscriber Group A (one TFTP, one Sub)
4. Upgrade CUCM Subscriber Group A (second TFTP, second Sub)
5. Upgrade UCCX primary to inactive partition (9.0.2.11002-27 to 10.6 with latest SU)
6. switch cucm versions
7. switch uccx versions
