hey,
i am trying to create a VSM secondary but for some reason it just won't work, i have filled out all the information including the same domain ID but when i boot up the secondary all i see is a different switch name.
when i run show mod, i dont see the secondary in the list of VSM, does anyone have any troubleshooting ideas
thanks

Chris,
I would do the following.
Take a back up of the primary VSM just to be safe. If it's on ESXi, copy run start, shut it down and clone it. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
For the secondary try creating it on the same ESXi host as the primary VSM. Assign the nics to all the same port-profiles as the primary.
See if that works.

hi chris,
what is the output of the command "show system redundancy status" ??
the primary vsm should have the output
Redundancy role
---------------
administrative: primary
operational: primary
the secondary
Redundancy role
---------------
administrative: secondary
operational: secondary
If there is "standalone"
you must enter the command "system redundany role primary" for the primary vsm
and "system redundany role secondary" for the secondary.
