Cisco 9K/FEX default interface issue

Hello everyone,

I have an issue with a cisco C93180LC-EX with a 2348TQ Fex, when i push a default interface eth102/1/x it doesnt remove the configuration on this port.

I have tried many solutions ( no switchport, no description...etc ) it is removed but still de default int doenst .

Is there a bug on this issue or a solution to resolve this problem ,

Thank you in advance for your assistance ;)

Hi @taib.morwa.bouricha,

Are you getting any error?

Please provide below output:

#show default-interface log

# show system internal mts buffers details

Regards,

MJ

it showed me this result:

#show default-interface log

`config terminal`
`Generating Rollback Patch`
Syntax error while parsing 'Generating Rollback Patch'

`interface Ethernet102/1/37`
`logging event port link-status default`
`no spanning-tree port type edge`
`no description tbd`
`exit`

For the second one :

**Fast Sap Buffers are not displayed below**
Node/Sap/queue Age(ms) SrcNode SrcSAP DstNode DstSAP OPC MsgId MsgSize RRToken Offset
sup/284/pers 366947 0x101 4455 0x101 284 86017 0x924ed32 4596 0x924ed32 0xfa1a004
sup/284/pers 109770 0x101 39251 0x101 284 86017 0x9252bd0 4596 0x9252bd0 0xfa18004

Those output looks fine! What do you see after in "show run int eth 102/1/37" after running "default"?
Also nxos version plz.

Regards,
MJ

the problem is that when i put the default interface eth102/1/x the running config for this port stays the same , it should be wiped out .

for the nx version : 7.0(3)I7(3)

Thank you :)

Hello Taib,

I hope you are doing great,

I could see many possibilities for this to happen, whether you have storm control configure in the interface and therefore the issues comes up, there is the below bug that matches a bit the behavior:

https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCvj20825/?rfs=iqvred

Checking also the log that, it could also be that your fex is not being provisioned within "switch-profiles" if you have it configured.

Anyways let us know if you are running any of this, or otherwise please share the port config,

Please qualify all of the helpful answers!

Regards,

David Castro,

Thank you for your suggestions, weirdly it is working now, after 3 day , still i dont understand what happened , when i wiped manually the port ( ie : no description, no switchport, no....;) and pushed another configuration into it , i tried the default interface again and it worked.

If you are able to reproduce the issue, open a TAC case. I don't see any know bug for this, moreover logs for "default interface" is not showing any timeout.

In case config is not able to removed, you should see something like this:

Interface config wipeout failed. Please check "show default-interface log" for error details

MJ
