hardware qos buffer profile on 93180YC-EX

hello,

In our DC we've used the Nexus9000 C9372PX Switches. Now we have some of these: Nexus9000 93180YC-EX. Everything seems ok, but C9372PX had Qos command issued: hardware qos ns-buffer-profile burst. 93180YC-EX doesn't have that Qos. Seems like that EX switches is more advanced on buffer side, but i want a confirmation from u guys.

Thanks

Hi @from88,

Yes, 93180YC-EX is 2nd Gen and have different ASIC then 9372PX, so that command won't work. More on 93180YC-EX , have a look to below white paper:

Please rate if you find it helpful.

Regards,

MJ

Thanks,

yes, i see by myself that it don't work. I need explanation is there any alternatives to that command, or on that switch this command is not relevant ? Thanks

We ran into this and had to use the following command as a replacement:

hardware qos afd profile ultra-burst

do you have to reload the box for that come into effect?

Hi @TheChosenOne ,

Testing in lab on a Nexus 9000 C9336C-FX2-E chassis running 10.3.4a.M:

Nexus9000# show hardware qos afd profile
AFD Profile: Burst optimized
Nexus9000# configure
Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.
Nexus9000(config)# hardware qos afd profile ultra-burst
Nexus9000(config)# end
Nexus9000# show hardware qos afd profile
AFD Profile: Ultra Burst optimized

Looks like you do not need a reload.

Please let me know if it helps you and do not hesitate to mark this answer as helpful if it's the case.

Have a nice day
Kind Regards,

Thanks a lot!

Don't you happen to have a C93180YC-FX in the lab ?

Hi @TheChosenOne,

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately no. But from experience, I've seen this also on C9348GC-FXP running 9.3.11 and results were about the same.

Hope it helps.
