I have DC infrastructure with 2 switches Nexus 7710 and need to implement loop prevention for mac-move between the interfaces.
Because option with command "mac address-table loop-detect port-down" is not available on Nexus 7k in any software release i have to go with implementation of software or hardware throttle.
Unfortunately the documentation that I found on cisco site is minimal and not so clear.
For example what is happening with the traffic in both cases is it totally blocked and how, is it not blocked? With software throttling will we have outage in case of mac move triggered?
With hardware throttle per vlan is the traffic blocked on one port or for hole vlan infrastructure, is the other traffic some how affected?
and many more questions ....
Can someone that have more experience with mac throttling explain how it works on Nexus 7k in more details?
Or provide some documentation/links where this is explained in deep?
