Hello,

I have two Nexuses 9300 connected together in VPC domain.

I need to replace one of the N9K.

Is such procedure somewhere? I've tried to fond but I found only procedures for Nexus 7000 and Nexus 5000.

Thank you very much.

I haven't noticed this part of documentation before.

Different scenario: single switch has failed.

In this case, when the replacement switch comes, I assume that I need to follow similar procedure:

1. Do not connect any links to the NEW_switch (except OoB mgmt)

2. Upgrade the NEW_switch to the proper firmware version

3. Copy the configuration (from the OLD switch - archived) to startup config.

4. Shutdown all vPCs and uplink ports, except vPC peer link and OoB interface, save the configuration

4. Power off the NEW_switch (can I reload instead?)

5. Make all connections

6. Power on the NEW_switch

7. Bring up all vPCs and uplink ports

Am I correct?

Actually, I don’t think there are any specials that are different between N9K and N7K/N5K, the only thing you need to pay attention to is "Sticky bit" should be FALSE when you connect the new switch to your network.

N9K# show system internal vpcm info all | i i sticky
Sticky Master: FALSE

So, I think that "Poweroff the NEW switch" -> "make all connections" -> "Power on the NEW switch" is the best for your scenario.

Thank you very much again and best regards.
