Upgrading of AsyncOS in clustered setup

Hi Cisco Community

I have a quick question. We are about to upgrade our IronPort enviorment from 8.5.6-074.

The question is, do I update the Management Appliance (M670) first to the latest version, and the disconnect all the hardware appliances from the cluster and upgrade them?

Please assist.

Hello Andreas,

Yeah first upgrade your SMA to compatible version with your ESA , after that proceed with upgrade for the rest of appliance.

here is the compatability matrix between SMA ,ESA and WSA:

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/td/docs/security/security_management/sma/sma_all/SMA-ESA-WSA_Compatibility.pdf

if you need help in upgrading appliances in cluster please check this article :

I hope that helps
