Hi,
I'm running a CUCM server in a lab. It's version 7.1.3.32900-4. I'm trying to use a 1751-V with a VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE card as a gateway to the PSTN, but I am having some issues configuring it and to be honest I don't really know if they are compatible.
First the 1751-V is not listed as a gateway type, the 1751 is though. Don't know if this is an issue here.
Second when I select the 1751 I cannot choose the VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE card as being installed. I can only select the VIC-2BRI.
I think the first problem is up here, but lets say that that is not the case. I'm a bit new to this so just to verify the next steps I would take.
I've configured the gateway with a hostname of CCME, this is also the name of the gateway configured in CUCM.
CCME#show mgcp endpoint
BRI/S0/SU1/P1/1@CCME
BRI/S0/SU1/P1/2@CCME
The endpoints name in CUCM:
This is the configuration of the 1751-V gateway:

The status says at "registering with CM" after a few minutes this changes to DOWN. When I look at the endpoint ports in CUCM the ports IP's + status remain "Unknown". I'm a bit confused here on how to get this work.
The gateway is running c1700-ipvoicek9-mz.124-15.T7.bin.
Thanks for your help!

Hi
OK - firstly your selection of gateway and card type is fine.
First thing to get right (after that, of course) is to do a 'show ccm-manager' (as you have done), and then use this line:
MGCP Domain Name: CCME.domain.local
As the domain name to add to CCM - not ’CCME', but the full thing with hostname/domain name.
You can just update the gateway you've added to CCM already.
Finally, once you have the commands you have that get it to the point where it attemps to register, a good option is to let it auto configure itself:
ccm-manager config
ccm-manager config-server
This will fill in what you may have missed.

Okay thanks! Now we are getting somewhere.
The CUCM is now showing up as being "registered", but there is a "TFTP File download failed" message at the bottom. Don't now why...

I only have BRI 1/1 being backhauled since BRI 1/0 is being used by CCME running on the router.
When I look at the CUCM config the IP address is now showing up, but the endpoint is showing up as being "Unregistered".
I suppose this is not correct???
UPDATE
I suppose this can be usefull:
CCME#show ccm-manager config-download

I think this means that the CUCM is trying to configure 8 ms of Echo Cancel Coverage which is apparently not a supported command?? I've tried to disable Echo Cancel Coverage but this did not work.
04-15-2010 10:14 AM
I fixed the echo cancellation issue:
CCME(config-voiceport)#echo-cancel coverage ?
24 24 milliseconds echo canceller coverage
32 32 milliseconds echo canceller coverage
48 48 milliseconds echo canceller coverage
64 64 milliseconds echo canceller coverage
8 ms was not supported. So I chose for 24 ms. After this the configuration parsed succesfully:

But the endpoint is still being marked as "Unregistered". Please help me out on this one

I just figured this one out. The Endpoint remains unregistered until L1 and L2 come up which, in my case, only occures when a call is inbound or outbound.
