Hi all,
we use some analog DECT phones on ATA190. But each call the user hears 3 beep tones (Dutdut Dutdut Dutdut). It sounds similar to some initial fax tones.
Do you know how I can avoid it?
And it occurs just in secure mode.

I found this bug/enhancement which you may be encountering:
"Require to remove background Beep tones in secure mode"
https://bst.cloudapps.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCva34585
The detail on the bug is pretty limited, there are no known fixed releases.

Hi Paul,
The 3 long tones are normal for secure calls, they indicate that the call is encrypted.
For more info on secure tones, check out the CUCM security guide here:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/security/10_0_1/secugd/CUCM_BK_C68276B4_00_cucm-security-guide-100/CUCM_BK_C68276B4_00_cucm-security-guide-100_chapter_01000.html#CUCM_RF_SA34DE14_00
You can disable the secure tone on the ATA by unchecking the "Protected Device" tickbox under the device in CUCM.

Hi Jonathan,
thanks for your answer. It sounds like the correct answer, the notes at the bottom too.
But "Protected Device" is not checked :(
I did not found any enterprise phone or common phone configuration that overwrite that setting...

A few points:

1. That tickbox was never checked. It is a test device shortly installed.
2. Resetting did not helped.
3. The parameter is set to false.

Hmmm,
bugs, bugs there are everywhere bugs ;)
It is classified as "Severity:6 Enhancement" and 1.3 was not officially released... that will take a long time :(

Yes exactly, unfortunately if the tones are very disruptive, the device will need to be set back to an insecure mode.
