3750X with 10G

Dear Netpro gurus,

I have a client who needs 10GB for new 3750X.  Just curious are the following correct??  My customer wants three 3750X, with four 10GB uplinks:-

Q1a)  Are these the correct 10G modules to use for 3750X with C3KX-NM-10G??  Otherwise, which 10G modules should i use for the 10G Connections?

X2-10GB-SR                10GBASE-SR X2 Module          

Q1b) I saw some which just has the following:

SFP-10G-SR=             10GBASE-SR SFP Module

Q1c) Do i even need to have the C3KX-NM-10G module at all??

C3KX-NM-10G             Catalyst 3K-X 10G Network Module option PID

Q2)  Can the X2-10GB-SR be used by WS-C4948E-E?

C3KX-NM-10G

this is the carrier module for the GBICs

The C3KX-NM-10G has 4 ports but depending on your GBIC selection

you may not use all of them. Look at table 4 in the link.

You will also need to order the GBICs but you will

need to know

which type of media you will be using

E.g.

Single mode fibre

Multimode fibre etc

Again look at table 19

When you say 10Gb, are you talking about copper or fibre? 

C3KX-NM-10G will have two 10Gb SFP+ and C3KX-NM-10GT have two 10Gb copper ports.

The 3750X does not include the C3KX-NM-10G.  This is an option you need to purchase.  So yes, you need to order the

C3KX-NM-10G or the 3750X will arrive at your client's location without one.  You will also need to order the SFP+ module of your choice.
