Hi,
Could someone help me to get some clarity on what features our client would loose if they decided to re-use their existing 3rd Party SIP devices rather than purchasing new Cisco IP Phones (e.g. 7841) on a new BE6K solution.
They would like to potentially register the following to their new BE6K
- Polycom IP 5000 conference phone
- Cisco SPA512G (believe this can only be registered as a SIP endpoint)
Help would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks!

Gurjinder,
The way you have to approach this is the other way around, define your requirements first and THEN decide which phone ticks most of the boxes. also maybe assign a weight to each requirement (for instance cost might be really important in your case).
In general, 3rd party phones on cucm; very bareboned functionality; call and be called. they will be able to do SIP but none of the XML stuff like, CFWD all, softbuttons, directories etc.
