50 DID range use for 90 approx. customers

Hello,

1. there was requirement from one of our client...they purchased DID range of 50 number...that is 1 E1 PRI with 50 DID range 4241 2400-2449..numbers of users on site are approx 90..we generally configure user extn of 4 digit of last 4 digit of DID range..

But in current scenario there are only 50 Extn we can create & allow them to access of Local/STD/ISD.....So how can we manage for next 40 users for which DID no. are not available is there any work around configuration so that we can use 50 DID range to 90 users....

or we need to ask client ot procure more DID range in continuation.....

2. Also is it possible there are 2 different DID ranges configured on same PRI ...I mean is it possible from ISP range they can configure 4241 24XX & 4241 44XX on same Physical PRI..

1. I don't see any workaround for this. If you want external callers to reach internal DN directly and internal user wants to publish unique PSTN number to outside, you should have DDI number equal to number of extensions.

Remaining 40 users will have to use common pilot number for outgoing calls.

2. Yes, it's technically possible. Depends on your service provider.

1. Without DIDs inbound calls from outside is not going be available to ring the phones directly.  What customers do in these situations is build auto attendant where calls can enter the 4 digit number, and they then only need 1 DID for the AA.

If your question was about allowing these phones to place outbound calls, not having DIDs is not going to prevent that, you may just want to consider what you defied as "external phone number mask" for caller ID

2. Absolutely, you can have thousands of DIDs in unlimited number of ranges on the same PRI, you are only bound to what the area codes/exchanges are available in that telco central office. Of course with SIP trunking that limitation goes away completely.
