Hi,
I have an issue with 7841 phones. We made the rollout of the phones 5 months ago using autoregistration, which worked fine.
Today we tried to Auto Register three 7841 phones and they did not Auto Register. Auto Registration was still enabled. When I configure the phone on the CUCM, the phones are shown as "rejected" and after one minute the phone is registed.
CUCM Version: 10.5.2.12901-1
Phone load: sip78xx.10-3-1-12
The only thing that was done in meantime: The Cluster is now in mixed mode. May this have an Impact to the Auto Registration process?
I restarted the TFTP Services on both CUCM Servers (Pub & Sub). I tried to figure out if request are shown from the phone to the CUCM by starting a capture on the CUCM CLI "utils Network capture port 69", but I did not see any packet.
Did anybody of you a similar issue?
Thanks,
BR

Mixed mode disables auto registration. See the following note in the admin guide:
"Configuring mixed mode clusterwide security through the Cisco CTL Client automatically disables autoregistration. If you want to use autoregistration and you have configured security, you must change the clusterwide security mode to non-secure through the Cisco CTL Client."

Just to add something, if you want to do that, it's now possible on 11.5+

Hi Jaime,
we have CUCM 11.5 in mixed mode.
Auto registration is enabled at the CUCM Pub. CIPC can successfully register automatically to CUCM.
But Cisco 8845 don`t register to CUCM although in the Universal Device Template the security settings are set to "Install/Upgrade" at certificate operation and the Device Security Profile is set to the global secure profile.
The problem also is with the 8845 that I even don`t see the MAC of the 8845 at the CUCM Pub.
When I manually configure the MAC of the 8845 at CUCM the 8845 will register unsecure and also secure with "Install/Upgrade" at certificate operation and the Device Security Profile is set to the global secure profile.
Do you know why I don`t can see the MAC of the 8845 when I don`t have the MAC manually configured at CUCM and why the 8845 don`t will register automatically even the CIPC can register with auto-registration?
