Is there any way to program a softkey for anything other then the options given? I am using one of these phones as a doorway phone and want one of the button as a speeddial that they push to ring the receptionist.

Hi Jason,
Unfortunately you won't be able to use a Softkey for this function. Have you thought about just configuring the 7906 to Hotdial the receptionist when the handset goes Off-Hook?

From this doc;
Hope this helps!

Hi Jason
You currently can't configure 'custom' softkeys on any Cisco phones... you can add/remove the standard ones but can't add speed dials or service URl shortcuts as softkeys.
If PLAR as Rob suggested isn't any good you could use a multi-line-button phone (e.g. 7941) and use the second line as a speed dial.
Regards
Aaron
