7911 Issue

I have a 7911 that I was trying to upgrade the firmware on and I read it needed older firmware to step to the newest. I tried to do a factory reset (Hold #, Plug in, Release # after message light flashes, 123456789*0#) unti now is a blank screen, pulls an IP address and is pingable and the Message, DND and Services light flash ocassionaly but no boot. Please Help!!

If the phone is registered to a CME then please add the phone load for the 7911 to your CME.

Download the load files from CCO, and then add them to your CME after which add the following commands

Example:

tftp server-flash:SCCP11.7-2-1-0S.loads

tftp server-flash:term06.default.loads

tftp server-flash:term11.default.loads

tftp server-flash:cvm11.8-2-2ES1.sbn

tftp server-flash:jar11.8-2-2ES1.sbn

tftp server-flash:dsp11.8-2-2ES1.sbn

tftp server-flash:apps11.8-2-2ES1.sbn

tftp server-flash:cnu11.8-2-2ES1.sbn

Router(config)# telephony-service

Router(config-telephony)#load 7911 sccp.8-2-2SR1

Please use the right .loads and .sbn file name from the .tar file you download from CCO for the above config.

Reset the 7911 again.

If it is not registered to a CME then please perform a factory reset again and let the phone go through the entire process, please do not disturb it. Leave it for sometime to check if it works.
