7940/60 Phone firmware upgrade question

Hi Everyone,

I have 7940 and 7960 phone to integrate to a CUCM v 7

Current installed version is P00307020400 and default load on the CUCM is P0030801200.

If I take a look at the release note here :

http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074289/28099/cmterm-7940-7960-sccp.8-1-2-readme.html

It should be no problem as I don't see any mentioned "transitional" firmware needed to upgrade straight to 8.1.2.

But after looking in the forum, I have seen that 8.1.1 is mandatory step before 8.1.2. So where is the truth ?

Also, if someoe has a link where you can see phone upgrade matrix (with lastest version).

Thanks

James

Hey James,

The note is actually in the Firmware release notes

Note You  cannot upgrade to firmware release 8.1(2) directly from firmware release 8.0(10)  or an earlier release. You have to upgrade to firmware release 8.1(1) first,  then upgrade from release 8.1(1) to release 8.1(2).

Cheers!
