One of our customers inherited a handful of Cisco 7941 phones and want to see if they can incorporate them into a hosted (non cisco) platform. The hosted service provider says the phones will need to be configured manually. The problem is on our test phone, we've reset to factory default, but the phone simply boots up, shows the splash, then the term "upgrading" and the mac address is listed, and the phone reboots. Then it starts all over. It there a way to manually stop this upgrade process so that I can enter the settings into the phone? Any other suggestions?

When you factory reset the phone, you erased the firmware from it. Now, you must obtain the firmware files and load them on a tftp server in order for the phone to access them.
