7945 Cisco DTMF issues?

                   Hi All,

Got an issue with several 7945 handsets, thaty randomly lose the ability to use the keys in response to IVR systems. An example being loging into Unity Connection mailboxes. A reboot of the phone via the PoE cable restores services for a period of time. CUCM version - 8.6.2.21900 Phone load - SCCP45.9-2-1S

If anyone has any info on this issue please let me know - or even any intial troubleshooting steps would be very useful.

This is a known bug on this firmware, upgrade to 9.2.3 or newer to resolve it.

Can you provide the Bug ID please?

I am not sure if this is the BUG Chris is referring to, but here is one that is very similar...

Sporadic DTMF failure for agent and phone becomes unresponsive
Symptom: Agent phone becomes unresponsive randomly and won't be able to transmit DTMF

Conditions:
1.) The agent attempts to transfer the call to another group. The DTMF is not recognized and the agent can not complete the transfer.

2.) The agent trys to dial 32170 to ring Unity voice mail After Unity answered pressed * 42036 # Unity did not respond to DTMF

Workaround:We reset phone by pressing - Settings button - **#** or simply unplug the phone and it will begin to work again correctly after re-registering

Here are the ones I ran into:

CSCtq66621 - Spurious DTMF failure (resolved by phone restart).

CSCtq97254 - G.722 used between phones despite region settings

Thats the one Aokanlawon that matches my senario in terms of load versions and sees to match the symptoms etc. I updated all the 7945 last Friday and so far so good no one has reported the issue in 3 days. So looks like this is the fix. Will leave for another week then say its the solution.

I have a CUCM BE6K 10.0.1.12900-2 white 7945's (5) and 6921's (100+).

All the 7945 does not work with DTMF. The 6921's are OK.

It is a bug? Any ideas?

Avoid firmware 9.3.1SR4-1 which I believe might be the default with 10+ and downgrade to 9.3.1SR3-1 to avoid DTMF and many other bugs.

Hi Chris, thanks a lot for your help.

The end user made a mistake dialing numbers.

All is OK so for now I am not going to downgrade 7945´s firmware.
