7962 Phone Stuck Upgrading

Purchased a used 7962 from eBay and it wouldn't upgrade/register, so I performed factory reset procedure and now the phone is stuck in Upgrading status. This is true even if I disconnect from the network and plug it in with a power cube. Seller was kind enough to send another phone, and same result. Maybe one of the firmware files is corrupt, but I don't have the md5 hash to confirm. I've browsed the forum and tried suggestions in the Cisco 7942 Stuck upgrading thread.

So I'm starting this discussion in case anyone has a solution. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to have a look.

Hi,

One of the things i would suggest is to try the 8-5-2S load first as there is a known limitation with the phones not able to upgrade to a higher firmware than 8-5-2S when they are running a firmware lower than this without the intermediate upgrade to 8-5-2S.

HTH

Manish

Thank you for the suggestion, Manish. I tried 8-4-2S instead, but the phone is still stuck even after performing the factory-reset procedure. Perhaps the phone is bricked at this point.

Thanks again for taking the time to respond. Much appreciated!
