9971 strange issues

We have strange issues with our 9971s where the Privacy, DND and Intercom buttons get activated automatically.  What helps sometimes is deleting and re-building the phone.  Anyone else experiencing this and found a resolution?

CUCM : 8.6.2.21900-5

9971 firmware : 9-2-4-19

Have you reviewed CUCM traces to confirm that really no one is changing the settings??

Or that the device is not controlled via TAPI/JTAPI/CTI from other source??

No, didn't get a chance to review the traces but it happens during the  day and the user was not in his office.  We do use MOC/CUPS remote call  control but I don't see how MOC would control Privacy or Intercom..
