Adding a New Subcriber

Hello All,

I wish to ask for clarification on the following:

1. Is it ideal or not to have a publisher as the primary server in one or more CUCM Groups of the same CUCM cluster? What's the implication of doing it either way (having publisher as the primary or not)?

2. What other configuration activities (apart from Adding the new subscriber server, Configuring the CUCM Group and Device Pool) are required after adding  a new subscriber server to a CUCM cluster?

The answer here depends greatly on the size of the cluster. You should be working with a Cisco partner here; they have access to a sizing tool that answers most of the questions. The design guide also covers this.

Typically once you hit 1250 phones the publisher should be dedicated to database operations and the CallManager service should be deactivated on it.
