We are running a Callmanager 4.2 system connected to a Noretel PBX. The callmanager gateway (2811) has 8 fxo ports that are connected to 8 fxs ports on the meridian. External calls come in through a PRI in the meridian and then forwarded to the callmanager. When an outside caller hangs up the phone the call closes on the pri but the fxo port on the 2811 stays offhook for around 90 seconds before going back on hook. Needless to say when multiple calls come in a short period of time all ports go offhook and no calls can be made. We do not administer the meridian system so if anyone has any ideas on what we can configure on the callmanager or gateway to cut down the amount of time it takes the voice ports to go back onhook after a hang up it would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using h.323 or mgcp to the gw ?

We are using mgcp to the gw. We also tried setting the supervisory disconnect anytone and timeouts call-disconnect settings with no success.

anytone is know to not work, you must configure the exact tones. I think (but not 100%sure) that it works with mgcp.

Is there any good way to find out what tone the PBX is using?

Most likely the same tone as per you country. Have the caller hangup-up and check:
