I've read the release notes for the new firmware for the ATA-187 (9.2.3) which supports plus dialing by using the '*' (star) key. However I've tried installing this firmware to test the feature, but the star key doesn't seem to be past to CUCM.
I installed both the QED file and the firmware as detailed in the release notes.
Is the feature only supported in CUCM 8.6??

I verified the new firmware was installed on the ATA under the ATA's web ui.
In CUCM I've created translation patterns that take the +e.164 and route the calls to the local extensions, I've also changed a single extension to +e.164 number these numbers I can dial using CUPC +e.164 numbering.
When I attempt to dial the number on the ATA using * I receive fast busy.
DNA confirms that the patterns should be matched from the ATA

Did you hold down * for 2-3 seconds? I know on other models the * is used to but you need to hold * for a second for it to change to +
