ATA191 Losing Registration

Cisco Unified CM Administration System version: 10.5.2.12901-1

Product Type: Cisco ATA 191
Device Protocol: SIP

Thanks to anyone who addresses my question!

I have an ATA that periodically loses registration.

Looking at he the ATA logs, I see it keeps repeating the same errors over and over.

Any idea what this is referring to?

Dec 4 11:19:12 ATA191 syslog.notice syslog-ng[689]: STATS: dropped 0
Dec 4 11:19:50 ATA191 daemon.warning CDPLLDP: [lldpproto_stop_fast_start][1367] lldp stop fast-start
Dec 4 11:19:55 ATA191 daemon.warning NTP[677]: ntp_main(838) retry after 63 secs

If you don’t use the second line on the ATA you could try to disable it to see if that helps. ATAs are known to misbehave if the second line is not setup, but still enabled.

We have our 2nd line disabled and continue with the issue of having to power cycle the device to register it again. Cisco has always had an issue with the ATA devices.

I can only agree with you on this. ATA has always been a PITA.

Interesting. The second line is not configured at all. Are you saying it should be configured and then disabled somehow?

No. If the second line is not configured in CM with a directory number you can in the webUI on the ATA disable the second port.

Response Signature

When I WebUI I can see line 2 is enabled but it does not give me a means to disable it via the WebUI.

I was able to disable line 2 by going to Product Specific Configuration Layout on CUCM and disabling line two support.

Now the webUI shows line 2 as disabled after the ATA reregistered.

Not sure if this will resolve the issue with the device periodically losing registration.

Only time will tell on that.

I'm still seeing the log repeating the warnings.

Not sure what they mean or why they keep repeating.

Keep my fingers crossed.

Anyone have any idea what these errors mean?
