Hi!
Today i've tried to configure background images for 7965 phone on UCM 6.1.4.1000-10.
I've uploaded images via WEB-GUI to /Desktops/320x212x16.
Then i've uploaded the List.xml into to the same directory with the following content:
<CiscoIPPhoneImageList>
<ImageItem Image="TFTP:Desktops/320x212x16/logo_vertikal_ico.png"
URL="TFTP:Desktops/320x212x16/logo_vertikal.png"/>
<ImageItem Image="TFTP:Desktops/320x212x16/logo_horizontal_ico.png"
URL="TFTP:Desktops/320x212x16/logo_horizontal.png"/>
</CiscoIPPhoneImageList>
I've restarted and stopped/started TFTP already. It is a 1:1 Redundancy - therefore i've restartet both TFTP servers but no result. The phones still don't list up the images. I've also reset the phone but same result.
On the WEB-GUI the files get listed up but on the CLI don't:
admin:file list tftp /Desktops/
<dir> 320x212x16
dir count = 1, file count = 0
admin:
admin:file list tftp /Desktops/320x212x16
no such file or directory can be found
admin:
I hope someone can give me some feedback for further troubleshooting.
Thanks in advance!
BR,
Christoph H.

Hi Christoph,
You will want to ensure that the naming convention on the files are exact. I came across a issue where my PNG files were actually .PNG and I had .png in the List.xml which was the issue.
You will also want to ensure the List.xml is using a capital L.
You will also want to ensure that the files are the recommended size.
I would try reuploading the files as well then restart the TFTP service.
also if a background image just does not want to show up, it's a good idea to browse to the phone web site and check the Console Log for failures
7945 / 7965
Full size image-320 pixels (width) X 212 pixels (height).
Thumbnail image-80 pixels (width) X 53 pixels (height).
Directory "/Desktops/320x212x16"

Hi!
Thanks for your fast response.
OK, i've checked the following things:
name convention of png files - OK
List.xml with capital L - OK
Already tried to reupload files & restart - no new result
Phone web site logfiles - at the moment not possible because of remote access restrictions :/ Same issue with RTMT - no data collection possible via remote access.
I'll try it on a testserver (Release 7.1.3) - do you think this will still be comparable?

Christoph

Hi chris,
my List.xml looks like for 7945/65
URL="TFTP:Desktops/320x212x12/BIG.png"/>
Desktops/320x212x12:
BIG.png
List.xml
TN.png
Pls try this and rate:

it's a good idea to browse to the phone web site and check the Console Log for failures, you will see what's the phone is calling for from here

Hi all!
Thanks for your support.
I've could check the phone console logs as well: Phones tried to load files from Subscriber but couldn't find them
The strange thing was this:
Files were viewable via OS Platform GUI TFTP Management but not via SSH (directory not found).
Solution:
I just removed all files and re-added them via Web-Gui and restarted TFTP - didn't work.
I've restarted the Server - problem solved!
Could it be that another service is necessary on UCM 7 Release or was it by change that it works after the restart?
BR,
Christoph H.
