Hi,
we have a shared line which can take 6 calls simultaneously. Let's assume that we have 4 calls going at once on that shared line.
A fifth person (who can make a call on that line but is currently idle) wants to barge into one of the existing 4 calls.
How could they achieve this?
example:
Shared line DN = 7000
Desk 1 = Call in progress on DN 7000
Desk 2 = Call in progress on DN 7000 <<<< Call to be barged into by Desk 6
Desk 3 = Call in progress on DN 7000
Desk 4 = Call in progress on DN 7000
Desk 5 = Idle on DN 7000
Desk 6 = Idle on DN 7000 <<<< This user wants to barge into Desk 2 call in progress
How would Desk 6 be able to barge into the call on Desk 2? Is there a selection button on the barge ie do they have a choice to barge into Desk1,2,3 or 4?

Is this CME or CUCM deployment?
In CME, when there are multiple active calls on the shared line, the barge initiator can select which call to join by highlighting the call. Not tested this on CUCM but I am assuming same behavior.

This is a CUCM 8.6 deploymnet using 7962G phones.
The phone has 6 buttons on the right hand side of the screen. The shared line is the top button as the other five buttons below also have shared lines.
When the first call comes in on the shared line DN 7000, all phones ring and flash. Desk 1 takes the call and all other phones can see that line is in use on the phone button.
Now another call comes into DN 7000 and all phones ring and flash (apart from DESK 1 which is on a call)
DESK 2 takes this call and all other phones can see that line is still in use. Let's say this happens to the next 2 desks (DESK 3 & 4) so the first 4 desks are now tied up on individual calls on DN 7000
DESK 5 & 6 can see that the shared line DN 7000 is busy. The person at DESK 6 wants to listen in on DESK 2.
I'm just wondering how they barge into a selected busy line on a shared line eg DESK 2 which took the second call as opposed to DESK 4 which took the forth call?
Is there some sort of select eg DN 7000 Call 1, Call 2, Call 3 or Call 4 and then the option to barge?

Just to let anybody know who tries this, it works well.
If 4 lines are in use on a shared line (as in above example), the person at DESK 6 can select the line by pushing the side button on the phone. This then presents them with the 4 lines in use on the selected shared line.
From there, they can scroll up and down to select the actual call and then press the barge softkey to break into the call. They can then leave the call if they wish and select another call to barge into. Very pleased with it.
