Basic requirements in designing a VoIP Network

Hi Everyone

Could someone please tell me what are the basic and necessary requirements while designing a VoIP Network ? 

I know about QoS thing, HA and other stuff but I need very basic and necessary info like :

1. What would be the minimum required Bandwidth ?

2. What are the best practises for the same actually ?

It's not a question that can be answered withing one line or event one page as there are books around this subject.

Another publication to review would the the SRND: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/collab11/collab11.html which details all of the requirements for successful deployment.

Thanks Chris for your reply too..... I have read SRND already. But I wanted to know what if I need to answer the same w.r.t. the interviews and Questionnaires.

and yes you are right it cannot be answered in one line or one page, but I just wanted to know the main factors and points involved in it. I have read the SRND for the same also as well as administration guide too, but I wanted to know w.r.t. the interview stuff actually.
