I have a few questions about setting up a CUBE to connect a Call Manager enviornment to a SIP Trunk ITSP.
We are going to use a Cisco 2821 router. I have purchased the "Grow as you go" license packs in a 100 and a 25 user quantity.
1) I've installed PVDM2 modules for 128 channels. Do I need PVDM's to connect to a SIP Trunk?
2) What is the latest version of the CUBE software that can run on a 2821?
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
What are your aims with using a CUBE setup?
PVDMs perform tasks such as transcoding and conferencing. i.e. converting from digitial codec to analogue, analogue to digital or from digital to a different codec and multiplexing voice calls together. With this in mind, you should not need PVDMs to terminate a SIP trunk using the same codec inbound and outbound, however if your SIP ITSP uses a different codec than you use internally then I can see you requiring them.
What does the licenses relate to?

We bought these two licenses:
FL-CUBE-100= |
FL-CUBE-25= |
Stacked together they should allow us up to 125 calls at a time.
