Hi everybody,
What kind of cable or adapter do I need to connect a E1 coming out of a G.703 X21 port to my 3825 gateway with VWIC2-2MFT-TA+E1 (RJ45 connector).
Currently, the E1 is connected to a Nortel Meridian PBX but not with an RJ 45 connector.
Thank you

Hi James
Haven't needed to do this for many years, but I used to use
CAB-E1-RJ45BNC
For this. RJ45 at one end, dual BNC coax at the other.

Hi Barry,
Thank you for your answer. You suggest to use both BNC connectors, but I'm not sure they are working at the moment. The only think I know is that the X.21 is up and running, and would like to make use of this connection.
Thanks

Hi James
I've never seen G.703 delivered on X.21. X.21 is generally used for low - medium speed serial interfaces. Whilst this can be up to 2 Mbps, generally this won't use G.703 framing.
I'm not aware of any cables you can get that would convert X.21 to RJ45.
G.703 is normally presented on either dual BNC (old) or RJ45. I've never seen it presented over X.21.
I suggest you contact your carrier.
HTH.

They confirmed it was an E1 but that left me doubtfull.

Barry,
likely the X.21 is the grey connector below the label. The BNC above are E1 and would work with the cable you have indicated and a command under controller.
I've rated your post to correct someone else actions on that.
