Hi All
Can anyone help, when we set up a Call handler, you have a field for the extension.
On our CUCM, we send calls to unity and change the calling number, the extension on our unity seems to match this calling number.
So does this field match a called and calling extension on unity?
Cheers

You can match on calling or called number depending on the call routing rules you have setup (CUC > Call Management > Call Routing). Assuming the default rules the extension of the call handler will match the called number.

Hi There
thanks for this, understood.
The reason we need to match on source number is because as I am aware, the Call Handler needs to have an owner user ID, so they can manage the greeting administrator.
The user id of this is the extension that is set on the user ID as far as I am aware.
This extension of the owner cannot match the extension in the call handler as it comes up with some error message saying already in use, so hence we match on calling number.
Does this sound about right?
cheers

You can add an owner to the call handler. The owner can login to the greeting administrator using their own extension/PIN to manage the greeting. The extension of the call handler does not need to match the user (and cannot as you mentioned). The call handler extension is simply the number that will be matched when dialing into the handler. For example, if you have a CTI route point setup to forward to Unity for access to this call handler the extension of the route point needs to match the extension of the call handler.
