Caller ID incorrect on call forward - CUCM8 + H323 voice gateway

Hello,

I am experiencing a issue:

Office users configures "call forward all " to their cell phone on their desk phone, when a outside caller calls in their desk phone, the cell phones doesn't show the correct outside caller's phone number.  The number showing on the cell phone,  seems it is generated from the phone system.

The office users and phone system are located in Germany, CUCM8 + H323 voice gateway.  I ran the debug on the voice gateway, it showed the gateway was sending outside caller's phone number to the PSTN.

Question:

.  Any solution for this?  Any parameters or configuration on CUCM/VGW could reflect the correct caller ID when call forwarding kicks in?

Your information and help is appreciated.

The problem is likely a function of your carrier overwriting the caller ID. Some carriers will only allow outbound caller ID to be one of the DIDs on the circuit. Check with your carrier to see if they are overwriting the number.

Hi,

Telephony in Germany is a little bit different from other countries.  So try to check with carrier if it sent the caller id or if that are a service that need  to be hired separately.

Best regards,

Hi,

User you h323 gateway check what you have selected under "Call Routing Information - Outbound Calls"

Call Routing Information - Outbound Calls

Calling Party Selection

Any outbound call on a gateway can send directory number information. Choose which directory number is sent:

  • Originator—Send the directory number of the calling device.
  • First Redirect Number—Send the directory number of the redirecting device.
  • Last Redirect Number—Send the directory number of the last device to redirect the call.
  • First Redirect Number (External)—Send the directory number of the first redirecting device with the external phone mask applied.
  • Last Redirect Number (External)—Send the directory number of the last redirecting device with the external phone mask applied.

Thanks all for your input.

One thing I forgot to mention, is CLIP no screening feature just activated recently.    However, before and after this change, the issue is the same.

The debug below shows the calling party number type is "Unknown".  The carrier said all calling party number type should be " National".

Question:

Could this calling party number type " Unknown" be the issue?

What I could make changes to update this calling party number type as "National" in call forward scenario?

( Attached the h323 vgw debug)

Thanks again.
