does anyone know the CCM roadmap?
Is cisco going to continue developing windows and linux versions or are they merging them.
If windows will be dropped in the near future, linux based ccm 5.x is the way to go for new installations.

They will be on both Windows and Linux. Windows will never be dropped. Different releases will be ther for different hardware platform. Like 4.x for windows, 5.x on linux and 6.x on windows etc.

the following article quotes Joe Burton, director of engineering for the unified communications unit at Cisco saying
"He expects the code bases to merge back into one stream within ?less than a year?. All future Call Manager versions ? 5.X onwards ? will be based on the Linux codebase and the old Windows one will eventually be made obsolete."

To clarify, the old Windows codebase will be made obsolete. But the Windows platform will still be used, in addition to the Linux platform.
