Hello,
I am trying to configure my 2 fxo ports on my 2811 router.
The problem is that I can't acces the voice ports.
The voice card is recognized by the system:
2811CME#sh inv
NAME: "2811 chassis", DESCR: "2811 chassis"
PID: CISCO2811 , VID: V05 , SN: FHK1223F0BV
NAME: "2nd generation two port FXO voice interface daughtercard", DESCR: "2nd generation two port FXO voice interface da
ughtercard"
PID: VIC2-2FXO= , VID: V , SN: FOC09111DV8
But when I enter this command:
sh voice port sum
IN OUT
PORT CH SIG-TYPE ADMIN OPER STATUS STATUS EC
============== == ============ ===== ==== ======== ======== ==
50/0/1 1 efxs up up on-hook idle y
50/0/2 1 efxs up up on-hook idle y
50/0/3 1 efxs up up on-hook idle y
50/0/4 1 efxs up up on-hook idle y
it only shows fxs ports (which are not in the 2811), and this happens trying to acces the fxo ports:
2811CME(config)#voice-port ?
<50-50> Voice interface slot #
2811CME(config)#voice-port 50/?
<0-0> Voice interface SubUnit #
2811CME(config)#voice-port 50/0/?
<1-4> Voice interface port # within vic
2811CME(config)#voice-port 50/0/1

The image I use is C2800NM-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M, Version 12.4(8)
I have also tried to change slots and even insert the fxo card in a NM-HDV module: it makes no difference.
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.
Willem

You don't have the necessary PVDM2-xx module needed to enable voice-ports.
If you have searched about this common occurance, you would have saved time in getting the answer.

Hi Paolo,
Thanks for your super-fast answer.
I guess I need more hardware.
Best.
