Hi,
I have one branch oficce (Region A), in headquarter (Region B) i have one Cisco 2821 (in Region B) connected to PSTN With one E1 and i have also one BRI connected to an interface GSM . From Region A to Region B i choose G.729. And inside Region A and B choose G.711.
An ip phone in branch office(region A) can make calls to PSTN trough cisco 2821 in Region B but couldn't make calls to interface GSM in same 2821 router. I don't understand why this happens.
Should i have to configure transcoder or MTP in 2821?
If yes in CCM what i should configure transcoder ios enanhced or MTP hardware?
And in CCM H.323 gateway should i choose require MTP?

MC

have u configured a codec to be used on the h.323 gateway ?? if both the calls are going out using the PRI, then it could be that the gateway has been configured to support only g711 and since the romote site would only support g729 the calls fail. Incase u want to use both the codecs .. u mite want to define voice class codec

Calls to GSM mobile phones also fail if call goes trough PRI.
If i change ip phone to same Region of Gateway calls to GSM Mobile phone (via PRI or BRI) are sucessfull.
In gateway i have configured:
voice class codec 1
codec preference 1 g711alaw
codec preference 2 g711ulaw
codec preference 3 g729r8
codec preference 4 g729br8
dial-peer voice 200 voip
destination-pattern 2..
voice-class codec 1
session target ipv4: X.X.X.X ->ccm address
Any suggestions?

Hi I have CCM 5.04.
Cisco 2821 with IOS 12.4.11T.
In attach i send test call from an ip phone in region (A) to a mobile phone with number 91XXXXXXX trough interface BRI (interface GSM) of cisco 2821 in region B. If i try to make call to mobile phone using E1 PSTN connection dialing 8896XXXXXXX it rings once mobile phone and then call fails.
PS: I have experimented dialing to two diferent GSM operators. one begins with 91 other 96.

the call was disconnected as resource unavailable on the GW. U mite want to add a Transcoder and assign it to the H.323 GW

2821 only supports Enhanced IOS Transcoder as it uses PVDM2

Hi Mchandak,
Thanks a lot for your help. I hope some day i can help you.
In 2821 i have one pvdm2-32 on slot 0 and one pvdm2-64 on slot1.
I need to config in 2821?
voice-card 1
no dspfarm
dsp services dspfarm
sccp local Gigabitethernet 0/0
sccp ccm 192.168.250.1 identifier version ????? (only have 5.0.1 not 5.0.4)
sccp
sccp group 1
associate ccm1 priority 1
associate profile 1 register XCODE1
dspfarm profile 1 transcode
codec g711ulaw
codec g711alaw
codec g729ar8
codec g729r8
max sessions 6 (only 6 transcode calls?)
associate applicatio SCCP
In callmanager i config one MRG with this XCODE1, MTP of CCM, CFB of CCM.?
And one MRL with this MRG.
Then i need to config this MRL in GW page of 2821 and in device pool of ip phone?
Thanks

yea .. u can use one MRG for all the 3 and assign the same to devices if needed. It is good to assign them on the device pool level.
For these calls it needs to be assigned to the GW and check the box next to MTP required.
Selected CM 5.0.1 would work fine

One more question:
you said :" For these calls it needs to be assigned to the GW and check the box next to MTP required"
In CCM transcoder config page 2821 is configured as Enhanced IOS Transcoder.
And in CCM MTP config page 2821 don't need to be configured as MTP correct?
Thanks
MC

ur right. On CM it is configured as Enhanced IOS Transcoder and not MTP
