I had to export my CDR to a CSV file format, but the exported data isn't legible or usable. Are there any tools or ways to manipulate this data?

Typically, you open up Excel, use Tools data Import, and import the CSV file with comma as the delimiter. It should sort out the data for you then. (same with Exports from CUCM for phones, lines, etc

Hi!
There's a bug that has some info on this:
CSCef46511
Symptom:
----------
CAR mails CDRs in unreadable format
Description:
-------------
Login to CAR as Administrator. Go to CDR->Search->'any criterion', for which
the output is a group of CDRs.Now click on the Send Report button and e-mail this report to any valid recipient. The CDRs reach the recipient in a completely jumbled manner, making it impossible to understand. Further, there is no choice for sending the same in pdf format.
Workaround:
------------
None
Check this workaround:
Use the following steps to display data in Excel in a meaningful format.
1. start MS Excel
2. choose File->Open
3. select "Text Files (*.pm; *.txt, *.csv)" for Files of type
4. find and open the report txt file
5. in Text Import Wizard window - Step 1 or 3,
choose "Fixed width" as file type, (it turned out choosing "Delimited"
may result in truncation of data)
click next
6. in Text Import Wizard window - Step 2 or 3,
use horizonal scroll bar to go over the entire row,
delete unwanted column break by double click
add missing column break by single click at the desired position
click next
7. in Text Import Wizard window - Step 3 or 3,
click Finish
8. data will be displayed in Exel cells.
9. for better readability, adjust the alignment, select the whole table
by clicking the table's upper-left corner, and click left-alignment button
on the tool bar. To make cell width fit data length automatically, double
click between any two columns at the top bar (A,B,C,...) while the whole
table is selected.
10.save the table to a Excel file
HTH!
Regards,
Teresa.
