CFA is successfully set, but call to it failed

Hello All,

We are running CUCM 8.5 and we meet a problem here:

We have a Phone (let's name it P_A) in site A, we set CFA of this phone to a external mobile, then the result is as below:

1. Call internally from Phone_B in site A -> OK

2. Call internally from Phone_C in site B -> Busy tone

3. Call from external mobile -> Busy tone

We also tried to set CFA to Phone_D in site A, the problem is still the same.

Does anyone have any idea about this?

Hi Savi,

You can start by taking a debug from the gateway through which the call is forwarded to External Number ( CFA destination ). For SIP or H323 you can enable the following debugs

debug voice ccapi inout

debug ccsip messages

( Take the debugs when there is less activity on the gateway )

If the call does not even reach the gateway then the issue is most likely on cucm config, else the debugs will provide some details on why the forwarding fails.
