We are planning on changing our centralized system so that end users will need to dial * for an outside line instead of dialing 8 or 9, and we are going to be collapsing all of the internal calling search spaces so that end users can call between different offices using just the four digit extensions. I have this mapped out to be changing our route patterns and then adding the internal calling search spaces for each office to one another so that the four digit dialing can happen. We have a few overlapped extensions that we will be doing away with before we push these changes through. Are there any other concerns that I am may be missing here? Just doing a shout out to see if anyone else has implemented such a change on their system and has any insight.
Any and all feedback/advice would be great. We are running on Call Manager 5.1(2) and Unity 4.2(1).
Thank you.
Rgds,
Vicky

Hi vicky,
One thing that may be overlooked is special feature dialing. for example, in our environment, we have * + DN to access voicemail (on unity) directly. To confirm you have no such issues, do a search (in route plan report) for patterns beginning with * (or containing *).
