Our phone is the Cisco IP Phone 7942 - we don't have a contract with Cisco any longer; however, we utilize their phones (we are a small, remote village in Alaska.) I've replaced my predecessor and need to change the phone over to my name and delete the previous user and mailbox - how do I delete the user and change it to me?

To delete user in call manager
You can navigate to user management Tabà End user à find the user à and delete it and follow the same steps to create a new user, instead of delete button use add new. This procedure is applicable in 8.5 version.
To change name on phone in cucm
Navigate to deviceàphonesàfind the phoneàgo to lineàchange alerting name, display (internal caller ID) and Line text label.
If you want to change name on phone in CME
Go to the DN and key in the command as
Ephone-dn
No name
Name xyz.
