Hi,

My requirement is to change the order or corporate directory ip phone service to top. I followed below mentioned document

https://supportforums.cisco.com/blog/153081#comment-10646546

Problem is 7940 series IP phone are not learning the changes however 7942 are showing the desired order.

I tried resetting , deleting and re-registering  7940  phone but i don't why the order changes are not reflecting on it.

Please help

Thanks,

Mohit

7940's will not use internal services provisioning, they will always use external services provisioning so they get the list order from the URL under the enterprise parameters for directories. You would have to host the directories XML page on an external web server and customize it as you want.

There isn't a way in CUCM to change the display order. The only way to achieve this, is to write your own code to generate the service list.

Hi Gordon,

The order is actually changing but the problem is its not reflect on 7940 Ip phones only however its reflect on 7942. What is wrong with 7940 series ??

Hi,

In addition to what Atul has said, you can refer the link which also says

Note: In CUCM Version 7, the services are displayed in the alphabetical order even if the priority is set. This field is applicable only from CUCM Version 8 onwards. IP Phone 7940/7960 does not use internal services provisioning. This phone model always uses external services provisioning. Check the Service Provisioning Paramter section for more details on the types of Service Provisioning.

Hi,

I am using 8.6 so i guess the field is applicable here. I tried for 7940 settings and unfortunately service provisioning option is not available for this model so i am not able to provision internal. I guess writing an external xmldirectory is the only option left.
