Hi,
I've some 1861 experiencing problem on the FXS ports. Some of them has no tone when you hook off, and they don't ring when you call them.
I've tried usinh MGCP and H.323, and when I call them I can check that the call arrives because the show voice port sum shows that the port is ringing, but it doesn't sound.
I've this messages on console:
*Aug 22 14:22:01.455: Thermal alarm on DSP channel ch=1 is OFF

I've looked on the show stacks and show tech for some HW problems, but I didn't found anything.
Please let me know if you know some test that I can try, because it seems that the DSP is not working.

Hi Andrew,
Try this command #csim start

Hi Shiv,
The calls arrives to the gateway. If you call the DN assigned to that FXS port, you can hear the calling tone and if you make a show voice port summary you can see that the FXS port is ringing, but on the phone connected you can't hear no sound.
I've tried controlling the FXS port with H.323 and MGCP and the result is the same. Only changing the GW the problem was solved.

Hi can you confirm how you resolved this. I have a similar issue when calling a phone or fax on an fxs port the calling party gets no ringing tone.
Many thanks

Hi Dave,
Sorry for the bad news, but I didn't found a solution for this, only RMA.
It seems a problem with hardware on these FXS.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I think i may have found an answer for my problem but yet to test I may need the "voice call send-alert" command.

I'm having the same problem as you guys. I'd be very keen to hear the results of your enquiries, and how you fixed the problem.
Please post here when you find something out.

HI,
I can confirm i fixed my problem with the "voice call send-alert" command. My symptons were no ringtone from the calling phone even though the fxs device would ring fine.

Dave,
My problem was not the ring-tone, was the dial tone. The FXS has no dial tone when you off hook the phone, and the phone doesn't ring when a call arrives to that FXS. So we have different problems.

Also in the router ther is a thermal alarm present. I've tried configuring H.323 and MGCP and the problem persists.
The only solution in my case is RMA for HW failure.
