Question1:

I just saw in documentation that this router can handle up to 36 ip phones, however in docs i see 42, can anyone tell whether one or another is correct statement?

Question2:

Is this big deal to add new/delete existing phone?

Question3:

What about if i would need more phones to be connected than router is able so. What hardware is good for replacement of this one that current configuration could be moved to newer hardware router

Question4:

Is there any GUI approach router that could be configured from web browser or similar rather that from console?

Question5:

Does anyone have any tutorial about how to configure this staff from scratch? Mean Cisco telephony staff

Are you talking about using a 2811 for CME or SRST?  I think 36 is even the max number of phones, according to the data sheet.

The 2821 supports 58 phones (off the top of my head)

CME is all CLI configuration,

Please also be aware that the 2811 is end of life, better, order a 4400 series ISR, if you are in the procurement process.

2800 series are not the way forward for a  new deployment.

i just handovered server room and there is 2811 with CME configuration. You said 4400 series what type of router exactly you would advice to purchase and does it contain gui configuration panel e.g by accessing via www?

you could configure some GUI for CME as per:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/manual/cmeadm/cmegui.html

even on your 2811. I dont know how good it is, I have never used it.

In documentation i see there is CUCM 10.5 on some llinux system - what it is? Can i manage 2811 router by this tool?

CUCM is installed on Linux/Virtualized environments like UCS servers or third party specs based servers. Please spend some time studying at least the data sheets , release notes and install guides of these products to start with. With the amount of understanding you have of IP telephony right now it would be better to go for a small training before you start implementing a solution ( CUCM or CME ) for production systems to avoid any issues. There are numerous videos on youtube that you can refer which provide details of cucm and cme configuration and other details.

If i have 2811 cme (and cucm10.5) can you point me to sample e.g youtube tutorial)?

P.S From my understanding cli is for command navigation and configuration of 2811 and cucm is some graphical interface am i right?

Hoping is not too late for a reply, but this should be a simple search in Youtube, I found the following video:

I recommend this old PDF I used to play with few years back when I was new to CUCME

For the ISR 4400 visit the Compare Models Page, it will tell you how many phones it will support in CME/SRST configuration.

Here is the page, it will tell you what are the max supported in CME/SRST - Make sure to look at the Unified Communications Section:

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/routers/4000-series-integrated-services-routers-isr/models-comparison.html

One more thing, on the 2811, the latest version of CUCM you can go up to is 8.6 - and you will be missing on many new features available in newer versions, supported on newer models, like the ISR4400 series

Hi,

In addition to the useful tips from Dennis, please review the supported platforms and endpoints for CME and SRST deployments for all versions

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/unified-communications/unified-communications-manager-express/products-device-support-tables-list.html

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/unified-communications/unified-survivable-remote-site-telephony/products-device-support-tables-list.html

Configuring the CME needs to be done as per the CME admin guide.
