I want to use Cisco3845 as transit SIP point (there is no need for FXS/FXO/E1 ports, just transit SIP calls).
There are ~100 simultaneous calls in max now and can be up to 200 in a near future.
It is ok to use 3845? It there any caveats (like small number of CPS)?

I use two 3845 routers in same manner without problem.
If you want increase the number of managed calls you can configure routers to handle only SIP signalling using the command "media flow-around" under voice-service-voip or dial-peer configuration section.
The default modality is "media flow-through". In this case the router handles also RTP streams. It stops incoming RTP flow and generates a new one.
This configuration uses more CPU resources.
Depending by installed IOS, you can use also commands like "codec transparent" and "pass-thru sdp". In this case codecs negotiation is transparent.
Regards.

Dear Daniele,
the problem is that this device must proxy RTP stream too. And I'm afraid that it won't be able to handle 100-200 simultaneous calls without some service degradation (dropping calls cause of low CPS, etc.).
What hardware and maximum number of calls do you have?
