Disclaimer: I am one of the Cisco Engineers for my company, and I have no knowledge of Nortel internals. I just want to save the next person the time and trouble we encountered while connecting a new 4431 to a Nortel PBX as we start phasing in Cisco IP phones at one of our locations.
Our Nortel vendor asked for any information we could find to help them, and we could not find any, so I hope this helps someone.
As a little background, when we started planning for this integration the Nortel vendor said they could easily make it work with Enhanced QSIG, problem was this PBX didn't have Enhanced QSIG loaded - and for a mere $120,000 US they would sell it to us! We declined, preferring to use NI2 instead. After a couple of days of fighting with it, the connection works!
So although I understand almost none of the Nortel commands, if you can give this to a Nortel technician it might save you a lot of time and consultation fees.
