Cisco 7821 don't registered on CUCM 9.1

Hello,

I bought new phones Cisco 7821 SIP. I never used this type of phones on my CUCM (v9.1.2.10000-28).

I set up device pack on my 2 CUCM (PUB+SUB) and restart TFTP service.

I can create a new phone as 7821 device type.

But when I plug the new phone, the phone stay unregistred.

On the phone's web interface, I get this status :

[01:55:24pm,11/30/16] DeviceTLInfo DeviceName=SEP00562B62E512 IPv4Address=10.17.0.67 IPv6Address=CTL_Signature=Not InstalledCTL_TFTP_Server=N/AITL_Signature=27 93 9B 53 FA 48 38 1F 0C 59 D3 66 27 86 72 6D C5 9E 57 B9 ITL_TFTP_Server=FRD1TOIPCUCM2.MYDOMAIN.comStatusCode=3

TFTP don't have any SEP00562B62E512.cnf.xml file and SEP00562B62E512.tlv file. Is it normal ?

I attached Phone log file.

Do you know what could be the issue ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

In the TFTP service parameters, but that would be applicable if you tried to browse the TFTP datastore and couldn't find the file, if you try the way you did, that doesn't apply. Even if it was cached, you would get the file, as it happened with other models.

Have you tried deleting that config and creating it again?

Are you sure you installed the device pack on each node and rebooted every node in the cluster?  Post "file dump install system-history.log" for each node.

If you review the DevPack documentation it states a cluster reboot is MANDATORY if you're installing the DevPack to add support for new endpoints.

You only mention you restarted the TFTP, which would be enough, if all you want is to use the new FW that was installed.

Hello,

I tried too to restart cluster, without any effect...

Did you delete the ITL cert from the phone? Alternatively performed factory reset?

I did a factory reset of the phone, same thing, I get the message "Registration in progress" all the time ...

On web page in debug display, I always get this message :

DeviceTLInfo DeviceName=SEP00562B62E512 IPv4Address=10.17.0.67 IPv6Address=CTL_Signature=Not InstalledCTL_TFTP_Server=N/AITL_Signature=27 93 9B 53 FA 48 38 1F 0C 59 D3 66 27 86 72 6D C5 9E 57 B9 ITL_TFTP_Server=FRD1TOIPCUCM2.MYDOMAIN.comStatusCode=3

OK, you mentioned the config file was not in the TFTP, exactly how did you test this?

And do you have the option for the config file to be cached?

Hello,

Through a web browser, I tried to acces to http://myip:6970/SEP00562B62E512.cnf.xml or SEP00562B62E512.tlv

It works with Cisco 7941/7942.

Where can I find the option to cached config file ?

In the TFTP service parameters, but that would be applicable if you tried to browse the TFTP datastore and couldn't find the file, if you try the way you did, that doesn't apply. Even if it was cached, you would get the file, as it happened with other models.

I tried to delete device phone and create again, same issue.

Through TFTP client, I can get CTLSEPmacadress.tlv, ITLSEPmacadress.tlv and SEPmacadress.cnf.xml.sgn about a working phone Cisco 7942 SCCP.

All my previous phone was in SCCP, is something to do about SIP phones ?

I will restart cluster once again tonight and I will let you know.

I restarted the 2 nodes of the cluster.

I run the command file dump install system-history.log :

I see that in "Device Defaults Configuration", Cisco 7821 is not in the main list "Device Defaults Information" but at the bottom in "Dual bank information" area. Is it normal ?

That is normal for the phone models that have an active/inactive load.

The output there shows the cluster wasn't rebooted until today after the device pack was installed.

Is the device registering now?

Thanks a lot, the is registring now !

I had to delete device and create again.

Thanks a lot for your help.
