Cisco 8300 replacing 2911 FXO

I'm swapping out old 2911 with 8300 including an FXO interface for analog phone line.

In "Add a new Gateway" in Call Mgr the 8300 is not listed in "Gateway Type."  Is there a generic choice that would work or do I need Call Mgr upgrade?

My CUCM is System version: 11.5.1.16900-16

According to the compatibility matrix, the Catalyst 8k router are supported from 12.5 SU4 and higher.

Edit: Assuming that MGCP is used as @Roger Kallberg said. If you wanna use SIP, there shouldn't be a problem.

As @b.winter wrote you’ll need to be on CM version 12.5 SU4 or newer to have this model as a selectable option.

Bengaluru-17.6.5

The version of IOS is not really related to this.

Assuming that you’re trying to add it as a MGCP gateway? If so you’ll likely need to upgrade your CM to a version that includes this router model. An option would be to use SIP as the control protocol as that’s device agnostic.

@andrew.neff Thank you for not rating my post, which provided you the info in the first place, as an accepted solution^^

sorry, this is my very first post, so just navigating around the buttons has been fun.

I mistook your response for applying to my router version
