Hi,

I inherited a CME (10.5 on Cisco 2901 router)configuration that already have 8831 installed and working. We got some additional phones including 8831. Those additional phones were added and they are working but the additional 8831 is not registering.  Voice register dn and pool 5 is the 8831 that is not working and the Voice register dn and pool 6 belongs to the working 8831. Can someone help me with this.

Product ID is CP-8831-BASE-S-EUV01

First advise would be to upgrade the IOS to 15.7 so that you are running CME 12.0 and support these phones natively. Currently you are doing a fast-track.

Thanks Nipun... before I attempt to upgrade, I will need to answer why a similar phone, with the same specs, is working with the current version.

Well we can troubleshoot that's fine. Enable the following and send me the logs -

debug ccsip message
debug ccsip error
debug ccsip non-call
debug voice register event
debug voice register error

Thanks Nipun... see below

Hi Nipun,

I did a factory reset on the 8831 phone and it started working.

Thanks

I guess you fixed it before I could check the logs. Great!
