Best practice is to check the various guides.
Upgrade guides for CUCM, CIMC and ESXi
Compatibility guides
Release notes of CUCM 14, to see which phones are supported
...
All the information is there in the internet. The forum isn't here to do your job of information gathering and present you a work instruction and explain you how upgrades work, or doing internet search for you.
It is here to help on specific questions.

All I want is to make sure and know the steps to search on the internet.

Cisco Unified IP Phone 7970
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7971
The following phone models were first deprecated in Release 11.5(x). That deprecation status carries over to Release 14:
Cisco IP Phone 12 S
Cisco IP Phone 12 SP
Cisco IP Phone 12 SP+
Cisco IP Phone 30 SP+
Cisco IP Phone 30 VIP
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7902G
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7905G
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7910
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7910G
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7910+SW
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7910G+SW
Cisco Unified IP Phone 7912G
Cisco Unified Wireless IP Phone 7920
Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7935
I assume your 10.5 would be running on a different server and 14 will be on new M5 server. in that case it's a migration. USE PCD as this will make your migration easy.
If you run pre upgrade cop it will list your all the deprecated phone models.
