cisco cp8831 conf daisy chain setup

Hi All,

can some on assist me configuring a cisco 8831 ip phone  (conference)
i have configured the phone on call manager and it came up fine however the daisy chained base does not.

power is connected but not configured how should i make it work

Hi Ravi,

here is a checklist...

1. Main unit (keypad connected too) is the Primary and should be the one configured in CUCM.

2. Power Adapter should be plugged into the Primary unit.

3. Add Daisy chain unit and give it time to upgrade if needing (this may take over 5min)

4. Daisy chain icon should be displayed on keypad.

If still not coming up, then there may be an issue with either the cable or speaker.  I've had a few out of box failures.  also try the interim firmware (sip8831.9-3-3-TO-10-3-1-v2)  if your not already on sip8831.10-x.
