Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series + CUCME B-ACD

Hi All,

we want to use CUCME and the Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series in combination with B-ACD.

As far as I can see, the IP Phones 7800 are SIP only, no SCCP. However, B-ACD is a SCCP only feature in general.

But there is a feature list which shows that the 7800 SIP only phones support B-ACD.

Is this absolutely confirmed that we can use the 7800 phones with B-ACD and IVR?

B-ACD won't work with SIP Phones in general because most of the B-ACD deployments involve
calls to go to a hunt group. The hunt group being mentioned here is a ephone hunt-group
and not voice hunt -group. Voice hunt-group(s) are not supported as part of the B-ACD
feature on CME.

Talking about 78XX and if they support B-ACD or not. They do support B-ACD if and
only if the phones are not part of the voice hunt group. And, ephone hunt groups are not
supported for SIP IP Phones as per design. What will work for B-ACD and SIP Phones is if they
use a "dial-by-extension" option within the B-ACD application.

Hi Manish,

thank you very much for your answer. Just two additional questions: As IP Phones 78XX and 88XX don't support SCCP at all, we have to use older phones such as the 79XX series with SCCP when we want to use B-ACD in combination with ephone hunt groups, right?

Do you know if there is a plan to implement SCCP support for these both phone types (78XX and 88XX) in the future or if SCCP is a legacy protocol which will not be implemented in future products?

For first question yes. For second query honestly i don't see SCCP support being added for these models, you may engage your Cisco Acct team for any roadmap related queries though for an official confirmation.
