Hi,
Using Cisco IP phone with non Cisco call control application is not supported.
For upgrading IP phone firmware you can use folloing method "Alternative Image-Distribution Solutions"

"My boss buy a Cisco IPPhone 7975, and he absolutly want to use it"
Maybe this is your once in a life opportunity to teach your boss about something
Please let him know that you cant just go and buy IP Phones and demand to use it. Phones dont work in isolation. They work within an infrastructure. So please tell your boss that if he wants to use the phone he needs to buy something else for it to work. UC320, UC520 etc
